Hubert Rhoton

April 8, 1930 - February 20, 2022

Hubert Rhoton, 91, of Dayton, OH, formerly of Duffield, VA, passed away on Sunday, February 20, 2022. Hubert was born the son of Lee and Pearlie Rhoton. He is preceded in death by his parents; brothers and sisters, Clarence Rhoton, Patton Rhoton, Vernon (Bobbie) Rhoton, Lula (Willard) Bowen, Laura (Leonard) Bowen; brother-in-law, Glen Collier; sister-in-law, Betina Rhoton; grandson, Kevin; great-granddaughter, Wesleigh; nephew, Chuck; niece, Geneva and good friend, Margaret Baker. He is survived by his four children, Sherry (Randy) Strom, Teresa (Trini) Rendon, Steve (Debbie) Rhoton and Kim Fields; eleven grandchildren, Eric (Bethany), Kyle (Callie), Noel (Micah), Jessica (Justin), Emilee, Aaron (Kayleigh), Chad, Desmond, Daylen and Trinity; fourteen great-grandchildren, Sydney, Cade, Kennedy, Paisley, Landyn, Miles, Autumn, Honor, Titus, Keira, Isaac, Peyton and Brycen; his former wife, Alice (Vaughn) Burke; sisters and brothers, Almeda Collier, Polly (IE) Horton, Ezra (Frankie) Rhoton, Donald Rhoton, Lonnie (Monica) Rhoton; sister-in-law, Ruth Rhoton; many nieces and nephews and dear friends. Hurbert was a loyal father that had a heart for seeing to the needs of his children. His hard work and helper mentality was admired by many. He enjoyed working with his hands and spent much of his time outdoors. His love for bowling, which he was able to do until the age of 84, carries great memories of time spent with family, fun times, laughs and making new friends, especially his bowling buddies, Tony and Renee! Hubert also proudly served his country in the United States Army. The family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. on Saturday, February 26, at Kaylors Chapel Church in Duffield, VA. The funeral service will begin at 12:30 p.m. with David Kern officiating. Graveside services will follow in the McKinney-Carter Cemetery on Fraley Town Road in Duffield.
