Annie Ruth Greer

Annie Ruth (Cole) Greer, 76, of Jonesville, VA, was born on March 9, 1946 in Blackwater, VA and went to be with the Lord on Saturday, April 30, 2022 at her home, surrounded by her loving family. Ruth was a long- time member of Friendship Baptist Church of Jonesville. Ruth loved Christ and her family very much. She was a dedicated and strong wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. 2 Timothy 4:7: I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. Ruth is survived by her loving husband of 59 years, Lawrence “Beryle” Greer, of the home. Ruth is preceded in death by her parents, Elmer and Elizabeth (Lawson) Cole; mother-in-law, Ola Greer; father-in-law, Porter Greer; brother-in-law, Jim Greer; siblings, Nora Rutherford, Elza Cole and Gloria Jean Hounshell; one grandchild and two great-grandchildren. She is survived by her children, Teresa (David) Muse, Lawrence (Teresa) Greer and Melissa (Josh) Franklin all of Jonesville, VA; grandchildren, Jimmy (Sarah Grissom) Muse of Oak Ridge, TN, Michael (Jessica) Muse of Harrogate, TN, Matthew Muse, Ashely (Josh) Hammonds, Alysha (Brandon) Elkins, Sarah (Michael) Collins, Nicole (Brady) Sprinkle all of Jonesville, VA; great-grandchildren, Paul and Olivia Muse of Plano, TX, Haylee and Addison Muse of Harrogate, TN, Kaylynn and Keith Muse, Ellis and Eli Hammonds, Baylee and Cory Elkins, Cali and Killian Collins, Chelsie, Stella, Dexter and Lincoln Sprinkle, all of Jonesville, VA; sibling, Grady (Gladys) Cole of Brookville, OH. Ruth is also survived by many special nieces and nephews and other family members and special friends, Sue Cavin and Jeannie Allen. The family will receive friends from 5 until 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 3rd at Friendship Baptist Church in Jonesville. Funeral services will follow at 7:00 with Pastor Doug Odle and Doug Clem officiating. Graveside services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, May 4th at the Ewing-McClure Cemetery in Jonesville, VA. Everyone is asked to meet at the cemetery.
